On the 12th of October in the year 2024, the lively city of Frisco, Texas, was proudly welcoming the prestigious 3rd Annual Hispanic Heritage Festival, the largest Hispanic heritage and culture celebration in the entire Collin County. The much-awaited festival was held from the afternoon session of 2 PM and extended to the evening session of 8 PM at the popular venue of 8055 Independence Parkway. The theme of the current year’s festival was centered around “Health and Wellness,” focusing on community health, while the motivational slogan selected for the festival was “By the community, for the community,” reflecting a sense of community involvement and support of the community by the community itself.
The festival commenced with a warm welcome and an awards ceremony that was headed by Francisco de la Torre, who holds the honored position of Consul General of Mexico. The colorful event was further graced by the presence of captivating live music, provocative cultural performances, and the presenting of community awards to recognize excellence in contributions. Talented musical artists who are signed under Azteca Record Label and those from The Creatives Factory took to the stage to provide exciting performances, hence providing a great means of entertainment for all that attended the festival.
One of the greatest priorities and focuses of the festival was health education and support for its participants. A primary sponsor as the title nonprofit charity of this incredible event was the National Breast Cancer Foundation, with the National Ovarian Cancer Coalition and Carter Blood Care as worthy secondary charities. These committed organizations spearheaded the initiative to disseminate necessary information and a myriad of resources that served to foster health and well-being in the community at large.
The festival also had some cultural activities. There was a display at the Perot Museum for kids with educational and interactive activities. A fashion show of cultural attire from Latin America and “Artist Alley,” where Latino artists displayed their paintings, was part of it. Salsa dance lessons were on-stage, providing visitors with an additional reason to get involved interactively for the day.
Community participation was actively encouraged and further promoted through an exciting food drive competition between the dedicated members of the Frisco Police Department and the hardworking members of the Frisco Fire Department. This festive activity was sponsored by the highly acclaimed Frisco Family Food Services, which played a pivotal role in facilitating this noble undertaking. In addition to the competition, the food court boasted an extensive variety of cuisines from various cultures, allowing participants to experience and enjoy adiverse array of flavors. To further enhance the celebratory atmosphere, a DJ was on hand, skillfully performing classic Latino favorites, which not only filled the air with music but also created a lively ambiance perfect for
dancing and festive celebration.
The 3rd Annual Hispanic Heritage Festival was a wonderful representation of the diverse and rich cultural heritage that defines the vibrant Hispanic community living in Frisco. By focusing so strongly on health and wellness efforts, the festival not only celebrated and honored treasured traditions but also provided beneficial and highly needed resources with the goal of helping the whole community. The tremendous success of the festival was an obvious representation of the unity, power, and vibrancy of the Hispanic community living in Collin County.

El 12 de octubre del año 2024, la animada ciudad de Frisco, Texas, dio una cálida bienvenida al prestigioso 3er Festival Anual de la Herencia Hispana, la celebración más grande de la herencia y cultura hispana en todo el condado de Collin. El tan esperado festival se llevó a cabo desde la tarde, comenzando a las 2 PM, y se extendió hasta la noche, terminando a las 8 PM, en el popular lugar de 8055 Independence Parkway. El tema del festival de este año estuvo centrado en “Salud y Bienestar”, con un enfoque en la salud comunitaria, mientras que el lema motivador seleccionado para el festival fue “Por la comunidad, para la comunidad”, reflejando un sentido de participación y apoyo de la comunidad para la comunidad misma.
El festival comenzó con una cálida bienvenida y una ceremonia de premios dirigida por Francisco de la Torre, quien ocupa el honorable puesto de Cónsul General de México. El colorido evento se vio aún más enriquecido con la presencia de música en vivo cautivadora, presentaciones culturales llamativas y la entrega de premios comunitarios en reconocimiento a la excelencia en contribuciones.
