Many places around the world lack global needs affecting people’s lives since they have been young. They also have a high crime rate. In Venezuela many people struggle as there are many human rights violations and many other things restricting them from living life to the fullest. The main issues in Venezuela are, unemployment, shortages of basic things, and economic mismanagement.
A massive issue in Venezuela is the amount of unemployment. This leads to many problems with the Political system and causes the government to create more real and stricter controls over things like private enterprise. As said in the article, “The spiralling cost of living, fallout from the COVID-19 emergency, and high unemployment rates have increased the vulnerability of Venezuelan refugees and migrants and have made it difficult for many to rebuild their lives and integrate into host societies across the region” (UNHCR USA). After the uprising of covid, the prices of basic necessities like housing, food, water all have increased in price. Due to the lack of high unemployment rates many people find it hard to afford these things and even have to move across the region in order to have access to things in everyday life.
Additionally The second extensive problem in Venezuela is economic mismanagement. For example the Venezuelan government focuses on putting cots in lower needed areas. They could work on decreasing the price of food, housing, and water, by looking at Venezuela’s public debt rate of 329% or about 4.3 trillion dollars. Economic policies changing …“by printing money, pushing the country into years-long hyperinflation. Skyrocketing prices led to severe shortages of necessities, such as medicine and food”(Center for Preventive Action). This shows that the funds of the government are going into places where it is not as helpful, if they put funds towards job openings and less inflation the less people would be struggling and in debt. This economic mismanagement leads to so much poverty in the state of Venezuela and everyone has to suffer from these actions of the government.
Lastly, the third major issue in Venezuela is the shortage of fundamental human necessities. Such as, nourishment, medication, a stable shelter, water and many other things that people in other countries like the United States take for granted. For example in the text, “Access to good quality and nutritious food is a challenge for many families. This has been compounded by the impact of global supply-chain disruptions and food-price increases” (World Food Program). This shows the supply and demand of the overall climate is affecting the rate and which quality food is produced. This leads to the price of the food to skyrocket making it harder for people with low incomes or unemployed to gain access to the nourishment.
In conclusion Venezuelan people are suffering due to the poor conditions like the climate, government, human rights, politics and so much more. Individuals in Venezuela lack the basic accommodations of life, this comes with many different challenges they have to face. The lack of healthy and quality food can lead to more people getting sick and with the insufficiency of medicine it can lead to higher death rates in the area. Venezuela has overcome and faced many challenges like the lack of employment, little to no access to food, water or a stable shelter, and lastly the economic sabotage the government officials are causing.
